Quiz: Define Confederation.
n class we read through the Articles of Confederation and determined what powers were given to the state and what powers were given to the national government. Attached is the original Articles of Confederation (there is also a condensed version). You can not find the weaknesses in the Articles so here is a list. Please see me for the worksheet (it won't let me attach it).
1. No national courts
2. No national currency
3. No executive branch
4. National government could not regulate interstate trade
5. It took 13/13 states to amend the Articles
6. It took 9/13 to sign a bill into law
7. Each state only had 1 vote in congress
8. National government can't collect taxes
